Dear Family:
This year has been an incredible year for us in the Bronx and our Parade. The Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade, Inc., “La Borinquena”, celebrated its twentieth anniversary and it was the premiere event of the year.
The Parade was visited by six states, representing Puerto Rican Parades from throughout the United States, Thank You New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
Over one hundred Community Based Organizations showed off their pride and colors joined by corporations this May. We wish to give a special thanks to the directors of organizations, the bands, singers and dancers. Our parade has become, as we had planned over the past several years the first multi-cultural and international event in the Bronx with groups representing South America, the Caribbean and of African heritage. Brooklyn and Queens joined us this year and next year we hope Staten Island will be joining us too.
We thank our media participates Bronx Net, Channel 4, 41 47, News 12, Bronx News and El Diario.
This coming year 2009, our theme will be
“The Island of The Caribbean” as once again we work to foster unity and understanding, our Parade is all-inclusive, so please contact us early if your organization wishes to participate.
At this site you will find the pictures of our Parade, Festival, Pageants and Banquet.
Once again,
Thank you everyone!
